How To Care for a Hand-Woven Bag: 4 Essential Tips

1

Clean with a Cloth, Never Wash

Avoid washing woven bags directly with water. Instead, use a slightly dampened cloth to wipe away dirt. For stubborn stains, gently scrub with a soft-bristled toothbrush to preserve the bag's surface and pattern.

2

Remove Odors with Baking Soda

For bags that develop an unpleasant smell after storage, place baking soda inside the bag and leave it for 24 hours. This natural deodorizer eliminates odors without damaging the material, unlike perfumes which can deteriorate the fibers.

3

Protect from Water Exposure

Water is the enemy of woven materials as it can cause mold growth. If your bag gets wet, immediately dry it by wiping thoroughly with a clean cloth, then store it in a dry place to prevent damage to both appearance and structure.

4

Perform Regular Maintenance

Check your woven bag routinely for signs of damage or dirt accumulation. Early detection allows for prompt repair and cleaning, significantly extending your bag's lifespan and preserving its aesthetic appeal.
